To save a round trip, include your iPhone model, your iOS version and the app version (you'll find it at the bottom of the app's settings). I usually reply within two or three days.

Common questions

Do my contacts get uploaded anywhere?

No. The contact list is read on your iPhone and stays there. One field, and only one, is sent out: the first name of someone whose birthday is coming up, which goes into the prompt sent to Gemini because otherwise the briefing can't say whose birthday it is. Not the surname, not the phone number, not the email, not the address, not even the birth date — the model is only told “today”, “tomorrow” or “in two days”.

The one other thing that moves is the phone number, if you tap the button to send someone a birthday message: it's handed to WhatsApp on your device so the chat opens with the right person. That goes to WhatsApp, not to me and not to Google.

The notification didn't arrive.

Check Settings → Notifications → Morning Briefing is allowed, and that Focus or a sleep schedule isn't holding it. Opening the app reschedules the next one.

The weather is for the wrong town.

The app asks iOS for an approximate location, which can land on a neighbouring town. That's deliberate — it's less precise data to send out for a forecast that's the same either way.

Can I turn off the AI part?

Not right now. Without it there's no briefing to write. If you'd rather have a plain, non-AI version, tell me — if enough people ask I'll add it.

Reporting a privacy or security problem

If you've found something that exposes user data, mail the same address with “SECURITY” in the subject line and I'll prioritise it. Please give me a reasonable window to fix it before making it public.

The full privacy policy explains what the app does and doesn't do with your data.
